Can we say in the nicest possible way that Sandy Plenty has been around the block and seen it all? Instrumental in the MTB scene for as long as I can remember he has raced, ridden, managed and owned bike shops in and around the Midlands and is one of the most respected guys on the scene.

He is also a little bit of a Shaun Palmer fan, how much of a fan? Well big enough to own and restore one of ‘Napalms’ original Specialized FSR downhill bikes! Now in the true spirit of the Malverns Classic, Sandy is going to saddle her up on Sunday the 17th of June and race her in the MBUK Legends Classic Downhill.

When asked about the return of the Malverns Classic, Sandy had this to say, ‘For me it’s a chance to see old faces from the 90’s, race bikes with them and watch the new school blow us all away.’ ‘In my eyes the Malverns is to mountain biking, what Glastonbury is to Music.’
You can find Sandy balls deep in bikes at the Trail Head in Shrewsbury, check it out..
